September 21 – November 18, 2010

The Magic House understands that going to school for the first time is a big step for children and their parents. To help ease the transition, The Magic House is offering My First School, a nine-week, fun and creative preschool program for 2 1/2- to 3 1/2-year-olds that encourages gradual independence within a nurturing environment. My First School will take place once a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30 am or 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Classes begin the week of September 21, 2010 and continue through the week of November 18, 2010.

This program, designed to gradually prepare preschoolers for a classroom setting, begins with six weeks of parent-child classes. During these weeks, the children build relationships with teachers and peers while learning basic school skills. Parents are there to support and encourage their child’s independence in the classroom. The final three weeks, children go to school all by themselves, while grown-ups attend parenting programs conducted by staff from St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Cost: $135 for non-members
